The purpose of this session is to help you take care of th emotional preparation that is so essential for public speaking.  It's all very well knowing your subject, but if your mind goes blank when you take the stage, you might as well know nothing at all!

Of course, to perform well you need to know your subject well.  You then have to sensibly structure your talk so that it has flow and hangs together in a coherent way.  You have to be sure of your subject to give yourself a realistic confidence.

This doesn't mean that you have to know absolutely everything there is to know.  When you are truly confident and appropriately relaxed presenting then you can be happy to learn from an audience member.  Successful presenters share information, knowledge and perspectives with their audience; not just delivering it to them like a letter throught the mail!

So, once you have completed you practical preparation, you need the emotional balance to present it to the best of your ability.  The ultimate state of mind for public speaking or what is called "dynamic flow".

Although complete relaxation when presenting may sound attractive, adrenaline is the fuel that will help you perform to your maximum potential and you'll need a certain amount to lend you energy and enhance your recal when presenting.
